SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

Education is about far more than academic achievement. While knowledge and subject expertise remain at the heart of every student's journey, the ability to apply that knowledge with confidence, resilience and composure under pressure is what truly enables young people to thrive.
At Propel to Excel, we partner with schools to bridge the gap between learning and performance. Through engaging workshops, targeted programmes and parent engagement sessions, we equip students with the mental, emotional and interpersonal skills that support wellbeing, strengthen achievement and prepare them for success both inside and beyond the classroom.
Together, we help students move from simply knowing to confidently showing what they are capable of.
"Schools teach knowledge. We develop the confidence, resilience and performance skills that enable students to apply it when it matters most."
the challenge we see
Empowering Students to Thrive Beyond the Classroom
At Propel to Excel, we partner with schools to develop the confidence, resilience, and performance skills that enable students to thrive both academically and personally.
Our evidence-informed workshops, coaching programmes, and parent engagement sessions complement your curriculum by equipping students with the mental, emotional, and interpersonal tools needed to manage pressure, embrace challenges, and perform at their best.
Together, we create a whole-school approach that supports wellbeing, strengthens achievement, and prepares young people for success in school, exams, and beyond.

the primary schools: the challenge
For many Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, SATs and 11+ examinations represent the first significant academic challenge of their lives. For some children, particularly those preparing for the 11+, the outcome can feel incredibly important.
Many have spent months, and sometimes years, preparing, revising and practicing papers continuously, creating a level of pressure that can be difficult for a young child to understand and manage.
As exam day approaches, it is not uncommon for pupils to experience worry, self-doubt, fear of failure, anxiety about making mistakes and a growing concern about letting themselves, their parents or their teachers down.
These emotions can affect confidence, focus, motivation and ultimately performance.

Schools rightly provide targeted support for pupils with identified pastoral, SEND or wellbeing needs.
However, there remains a much larger group of children who may not require specialist intervention, yet still struggle with the pressures of exams and transition.
These pupils often suffer quietly, masking their worries during the school day before releasing their emotions at home, while others may express their frustrations through disengagement, loss of confidence or changes in behaviour at school.
The challenge is not simply academic preparation. It is ensuring that pupils have the confidence, resilience and performance skills needed to apply what they know when it matters most.
This is the gap Propel to Excel was created to fill.
the secondary schools: the challenge

For many students, GCSEs and A Levels are the first truly high-stakes examinations of their lives.
From Year 7 onwards, students are increasingly aware that these milestone exams will influence future educational and career opportunities. As a result, many spend months, and often years, preparing for a relatively small number of examination days that ultimately determine their outcomes.
While students may appear more independent than their primary school counterparts, the demands placed upon them are significantly greater.
They are expected to master large volumes of content across multiple subjects, develop effective revision strategies, strengthen memory recall, apply knowledge under timed conditions and maintain focus and motivation over extended periods of study.
Alongside this, many students face the pressure of mock examinations, predicted grades, coursework, practice papers and increasing expectations from themselves, parents and schools. This can lead to self-doubt, fear of failure, perfectionism, loss of confidence, reduced motivation and, for some, burnout before they even reach the final examination period.
Schools do an excellent job of delivering subject knowledge and academic content. However, the skills required to perform consistently under pressure — confidence, resilience, focus, mental stamina, self-regulation, recovery from setbacks and high-performance habits — are rarely taught explicitly.
The challenge is no longer simply helping students learn more. It is helping them maximise what they already know and perform at their best when it matters most.
This is the gap Propel to Excel was created to fill.

our partnership services

At Propel to Excel, we partner with schools to strengthen the performance skills that enable students to maximise the knowledge, preparation and effort they have already invested.
Our programmes are designed to complement—not replace—the excellent work already being delivered through teaching, tutoring and pastoral provision.
Through practical, engaging and evidence-informed sessions, we equip students and parents with the confidence, mindset and strategies needed to navigate pressure, build resilience and perform at their best when it matters most.
Whether delivered as an assembly, workshop or parent event, every session is designed to provide practical tools that can be applied immediately.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Schools already provide excellent academic teaching. Pastoral teams and specialist services offer vital support for students with identified wellbeing or clinical needs.
However, there remains a large group of students who sit in the middle.
These are capable, hardworking young people who do not necessarily require additional tutoring or specialist intervention, yet still struggle with confidence, self-doubt, pressure, perfectionism, inconsistent habits or performing at their best when it matters most.
Propel to Excel fills this often-overlooked gap.
Our programmes focus on developing the performance skills that are rarely taught explicitly: confidence under pressure, resilience through setbacks, focus, mental stamina, self-belief and effective responses to challenge.
As a result, students gain practical strategies they can apply immediately, parents become better equipped to support their children, and schools strengthen their provision during key assessment periods.

Schools teach knowledge.
Pastoral teams provide specialist support.
Propel to Excel develops the performance skills that help students turn preparation into results.
THE VALUE
At Propel to Excel, we recognise that schools play a vital role in educating and nurturing young people, while parents know their children better than anyone else. We are not here to replace academic teaching, pastoral care or tell parents how to parent.
Instead, we work alongside schools and families to strengthen an often-overlooked piece of the puzzle: helping students develop the confidence, resilience and performance skills needed to apply what they know when it matters most.
By bringing together academic preparation, emotional readiness and practical performance strategies, we help create a more complete picture of exam readiness—equipping students not just to prepare for exams, but to navigate them with confidence.
